Spetses island is comparably a quite expensive island due to historical physiognomy, the neoclassical and baroque architectural heritage, and its vicinity to Athens.
The variety of accommodation places includes simple rooms, apartments and hotels. Therefore, conference participants can make their own choice.
Before booking, please keep in mind that Spetses is car-free island. Distances within Spetses Town are small, but there no public buses. You can travel by taxi, rented bicycles, rented motorbikes, and hired horse carriages. Therefore, if you stay away from the conference venue, at the other end of the town, it is not easy in the morning, when been in a rush, to reach the conference venue.
A. ACCOMMODATION at the conference venue – AKSS Residences
AKSS residence provide rooms in Building C which was completely renovated in 2015 and may meet the needs of conference participants. There are choices for different rooms (single – double – quadruple) which can overall host about 200 persons.
The Conference Organising Committee has made arrangements for the conference participants to book rooms at the conference venue – AKSS, during the conference dates.
More specifically, the prices arranged for the conference participants are as follows:
1. Double room with private bathroom, for the use of two persons, breakfast included: 90€/night (taxes included)
2. Double room with private bathroom, for single use, breakfast included: 80€/night (taxes included)
3. Single room with private bathroom, for single use, breakfast included: 80€/night (taxes included)
B. Accommodation at hotels
The most distinguished hotel on the island is Poseidonion Grand Hotel, 5*, a hotel with great history.

Poseidonion Grand Hotel, first opened in 1914 by Mr. Sotirios Anargiros, a visionary benefactor who was responsible for much of Spetses’ development, and especially for AKSS. It represented the most luxurious and cosmopolitan hotel on Spetses island and soon became a famous landmark, a favourite destination for the high society, royalty and the wealthy Athenians.
Following a meticulous five-year restoration programme, Poseidonion Grand Hotel, fully refurbished, re-opened its doors in the summer of 2009, ready to welcome new visitors.
