Professor Paris Tsartas is a senior scholar and industry advisor in areas related to tourism development. He is the author -solely or in collaboration- of more than 220 books, book chapters, research papers or conference presentations. His work has received wide recognition at an international level with more than 4K citations on Google Scholar.
Rector (fmr) of the University of the Aegean, twice Chairman of the Business Administration Department of the University of the Aegean, Director (fmr) of the Postgraduate Program in Tourism of the University of the Aegean, Director (fmr) of the Laboratory for Tourism Research and Study - ETEM of the University of the Aegean, Director (fmr) of the international MSTourHer offered by Harokopio University, University of the Aegean and the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne, Director (fmr) of the Tourism Business Administration (MSc) of the Hellenic Open University. Currently Professor in Tourism Development at the Harokopio University. He also holds appointments at the University of the Aegean, the University of West Attica, the Hellenic Open University, and the International Hellenic University in Greece; Université de Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in France; European University Cyprus and the Open University of Cuprus, in Cyprus.
His research interests include Tourism Development, Sociology of Tourism, Special and alternative forms of Tourism, Sustainable Tourism Development, Tourism Education, Tourism Employment, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management. Editor, Reviewer and active member and fellow in many scientific societies and international organizations relating to tourism.
