Dr Maro Sinou is Associate Professor of Sustainable Design in the University of West Attica. She studied Interior Design in TEI of Athens and Architecture in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her postgraduate studies took place in Cambridge University, School of Architecture, Martin Centre for Architectural and Urban Studies. She followed the course MPhil Environmental Design in Architecture, which led to her PhD entitled “Design and Thermal Diversity of Semi-enclosed Urban Spaces”. Her research interests involve Zero Energy Buildings, sustainble design of interior spaces, autonomous buildings, sustainable refurbishment of historic buildings, sustainable design of small urban spaces and others. She has participated in several research programs (RUROS, Life, ESPON etc. ) and has several publications in international and greek journals and conferences. Also, she holds her own architectural practice. Since 2005 she teaches in the School of Interior Architecture, University of West Attica.
