TRAVELLING TO CHANIA, CRETE.

Please note that in Crete June is high season period, so ticket and room availability is expected to be extremely limited if arrangements are not made will in advance.

Pre-booking is valued until 24 of April 2019. After this date you have to make your own accommodation arrangement.

One can visit Chania either by plane or by boat.

Plane

1. Straight from European cities to Chania Crete, Greece.

During spring, summer, and early autumn, there are a lot of charter flights connecting the International Airport “I. Daskalogiannis” of Chania (www.chania-airport.com) with most large European cities.

There are regular flights  throughout the year connecting Athens airport to Chania by Olympic Air, Aegean Airlines, Ryanair

The airport is situated 14km away from the city center.

Public Bus connect the airport with the city center (line Chania Airport – Chania). The travel lasts about 30 minutes, while the ticket price is 2.50 €. You may find updated information on bus routes (e.g. timetables) here.

 

Boat

From Piraeus PORT (Athens) there are ferry lines  to the port of Souda every day. The port of Souda  is situated 7km away from the city center.

Regular public buses  connect the port of Souda with the city center (line No13, Souda – Chania). They last about 20-25 minutes, while the ticket price is 2.50 €. You may find updated information on bus routes (e.g. timetables) and bus fares here.

 

Taxi

The cost of transfer from the airport to the city centre by taxi is approximately 25 €

Local Bus Routes

Public buses every 20 minutes connect the Conference Venue and the city centre to the areas of  Kato Stalos, Agia Marina, and Platanias. The journey lasts about 20 minutes, while the ticket price is ~ 4.00 €. You may find updated information on bus routes (e.g. timetables) here.
