In the process of globalization and post-industrialization, culture is one of the key factors in urban development world widely. Culture strategy, which could be described as cultural concept or cultural approach widely embed in urban planning and design, is one of the fundamental factors shape the characteristics of cities. This session aims at the analysis on culture strategies in urban design of new districts and built districts, by inviting urban researchers, planners and designers to sharing their research and experience of well-known projects recently, such as Beijing sub-center,Xiong an National New District in China, etc., from diversified perspective of heritage conservation, culture identity enhancement, new technology implementation, and so on.
