Title: Waterfronts for Human Flourishing

Description:

All over the globe in recent decades waterfronts have undergone re-evaluation, regeneration and transformation. These areas have become the symbols of urban resilience – the ability of places to change, to adapt and thrive. They provide places for new ways of living working and recreation. However, this success has often come at the cost of traditional jobs and ways of life. Some areas are exclusive enclaves for a privileged few, others sterile showcases largely devoid of ‘real life’. So how do we ensure waterfronts are places for everyone to flourish? This session will explore waterfront interventions large and small and how we maximise the benefits from these special places.
